Charley’s Restaurant Reopens

1 Aug

Charley’s, a Cotswold staple for many years, has reopened under new ownership after temporarily shutting down in March. Located in Cotswold Shopping Center, Charlotte’s first suburban mall, the restaurant is a cornerstone establishment, and many people have been eagerly awaiting their return.

While the menu remains similar to the original and implores many of the same recipes, the new owners have added a few new items including more steaks and pastas. A diverse mix and match of American food with an international twist, examples of the fusion dishes are the Teriyaki Fettuccini and Southwest Butcher steak with an ancho chile rub. Charley’s also offers homemade desserts, signature martinis and dessert wines.

Open for lunch and dinner, be sure to check out their new, contemporary décor and the expanded bar.

Neighborhood Favorite Sir Ed’s Closes

Sir Edmond Halley’s Restaurant & Freehouse has closed after fifteen years in Charlotte. The pub, located on the back side of Park Road Shopping Center, poured its final beers last week amid speculation as to the reasons for its abrupt closing. Whatever those reasons are, the local staple (and reported favorite hangout spot for Will Ferrell during filming of Talladega Nights) will surely be missed.
